The website is able to operate through the support of content providers and publisher partners. Right now, we are set to implement new products and services. More changes are happening very soon as we continue to grow.
What's your backstory and how did you get into entrepreneurship?
Our team mostly came from HR and career-related fields. At one point, we became job hunters ourselves. For you to have a decent resume, you need to go through each website and manually review them. It’s time-consuming, and you should’ve been spending time completing your other job requirements. Plus, with an increased need for resume writing services over the years, fraud services were also born. The need for legitimate and quality services inspired us to create Best 10 Resume Writers. We initially thought of making it just five, but job seekers are from different backgrounds and have unique needs. So we made it 10 so they can have the right amount of quality options to choose from.
If you clearly know what to achieve, everything else can be aligned with that. Once achieved, you can then set new goals.
The development of the website came easily with the help of our friends. We share the same advocacies so we never really invested a fortune. We have small businesses of our own that supported us financially. It’s awesome how the right people came in at the right time. Planning is so important. We tapped some people in addition to our core team to help us set the direction of the website. It’s also the same team that regularly reviews the website until now.
Take us through your entrepreneurial journey. How did you go from day 1 to today?
When Best 10 Resume Writers started to operate in 2008, there were quite a few resume services. So the goal of making it a go-to site for determining the best resume provider has been achieved (It continues until now). The few initial companies we listed sent us thank you notes for including them. We are their top referral. Since then, we noticed how fast our website is able to reach many people and make them engaged. From this, we know that we’re serving our purpose.
We’ve also received suggestions on what other factors can be included, like the speed of delivery and payment system. More companies started to inquire about how they can be included in our best list. There were people even willing to pay huge amounts just so their website gets listed. But up to this date, we never accepted payments of any sort in exchange for a rank in our list. We are committed to protecting the integrity of our reviews.
We realized how influential Best 10 Resume Writers is. Reviews for the companies in our list also pour in on our inbox. We need to go through each of them because we also inform the companies about those reviews. How they handle each review became a factor for their ranking.
Not only that, since we have this very good domain name of Best 10 Resume Writers, SEO companies also contact us. We keep receiving emails on the possibility of affiliate marketing and guest posting opportunities. Recently, I made myself involved in digital marketing. It’s amazing to receive positive responses because they know our website and our reputation. We ‘re now studying other areas where we can provide more helpful content, while still being able to continuously operate, especially now during the pandemic.
How are you doing today and what does the future look like?
Goal-wise, the website is serving its purpose to help everyone needing a resume choose the best resume service through our unbiased reviews. We’re also helping legitimate businesses in the resume writing industry to be at the forefront of search engines.
Because of this success, we are now taking action to further expand our products and services. Our team would like to maintain a good reputation as a trusted content publisher. Soon enough, we will implement Google Adsense and start to accept advertisers, too. We will need help and support to take the Best 10 Resume Writers into the next level. There will be new goals for us to achieve.
Through starting the business, have you learned anything particularly helpful or advantageous?

But if you clearly know what to achieve, everything else can be aligned with that. Once achieved, you can then set new goals. We never intended to monetize Best 10 Resume Writers. However, we are now considering options to make this platform a more valuable resource while maintaining its integrity to provide credible and in-depth reviews.
Faster expansion of scope - Resume writing is such a dynamic industry. New promising players may come up every now and then. So more than the general list of resume writing providers, there’s an opportunity to delve into other niches like best resume writing in specific states and in certain industries. We could have done this a few years back. But it’s only recently that we have done concrete actions to go into this expansion of our best list. Soon, we shall be publishing more new best lists.
What platform/tools do you use for your business?
Best 10 Resume Writers was developed and maintained through WordPress. It’s a great tool for us because we only know a few technical things about coding back then. We’re able to update the texts and design elements easily. We also use Social Pilot for our social media presence. Recently, we’ve also used Instapage to expedite our updates and A/B testing of landing pages. Of course, Google Analytics is helpful for us since our presence and operation are online. In the past, we’ve used Asana and Basecamp and later on migrated to Meistertask.
We were able to develop our own review management system, so the regular updates are done as quickly as possible.

Advice for other entrepreneurs who want to get started or are just starting out?
The integrity of business matters a lot, particularly for us that provides reviews of writing services. Even if other competitors are trying all their best to tarnish our reputation, we persist. We protect our integrity to provide non-paid reviews.
