Who are you and what business did you start?

My name is Gilles Migliori and I've been a freelance web developer for many years. Working for my clients has led me to design elaborate admin panels for many types of activity: online shops, management of all kinds of content, scientific conferences, etc.

To achieve my goals I developed an advanced PHP form design application, which I then integrated into a second web application, PHP CRUD Generator.

Once I had reached maturity I decided to offer these two tools for sale, which provides me with a monthly income of around $1,200.

How do you come up with the idea for PHP CRUD Generator?

As a freelance web developer, I quickly found myself developing custom content management applications for my clients.

I've always worked on a bespoke basis, and refused to opt for easy solutions such as Wordpress and other CMS. Clients often don't have the skills to manage their content with these administrations, which are too complex and ill-adapted.

I first worked on PHP CRUD Generator for my own use. When the tool reached maturity, knowing its power and potential, I decided to sell and promote it.

I immediately received very positive feedback and started selling; I've been providing support and ongoing development for 7 years now.

How did you build the initial version of PHP CRUD Generator?

Gilles Migliori built PHP CRUD Generator by first developing an advanced PHP form design application, which he then integrated into the PHP CRUD Generator web application. The development process was time-consuming, but he persisted and continuously improved the product. It took him years to reach maturity and start selling the tools, now generating an average of $1,200 per month. Migliori focused on providing high-quality documentation and tutorials to optimize SEO and attract users, relying on platforms like Sourceforge, Capterra, and Codecanyon for visibility and positive reviews.

How did you launch PHP CRUD Generator and get initial traction?

As I myself am qualified to optimise PHP CRUD Generator's visibility on the Internet, I haven't needed to invest, except for a few paid promotion campaigns. I worked hard to ensure the quality of the product, and to provide high-quality documentation and tutorials.

The first sales came in as soon as the product was launched. My presence on major platforms such as Sourceforge, Capterra and the Codecanyon sales platform enabled me to gradually obtain very positive comments, reviews and ratings from users, with an average of 4.8/5.

I still regularly invest my time in improving my SEO rankings, which for me, along with the confidence of my users, is the key to success.

What was the growth strategy for PHP CRUD Generator and how did you scale?

To grow my customer base for PHP CRUD Generator, I have focused on a blend of SEO, content marketing, and targeted outreach to developer communities. Early on, I invested significant effort in optimizing my website for search engines by publishing in-depth documentation, detailed tutorials, and use-case articles. By targeting keywords such as “PHP CRUD generator,” “admin panel generator,” and “MySQL dashboard,” I ensured that developers searching for these solutions could easily discover my product. This organic approach has consistently delivered high-quality, relevant traffic.

In addition to SEO, I listed the product on reputable software directories and review platforms, such as GetApp and CompareYourTech, which helped build credibility and reach users who are actively seeking database management tools. I also created an email newsletter to keep interested users informed about product updates, new features, and best practices, which has helped foster customer loyalty and encourage word-of-mouth referrals.

A specific example of an effective tactic was publishing a comprehensive tutorial titled “How to Build a CRUD Application in PHP.” This article addressed a common pain point for developers and provided a clear, actionable solution using my product. As a result, I saw a notable increase in organic website traffic, demo sign-ups, and ultimately, conversions. This strategy worked because it delivered genuine value and established trust with potential customers.

For aspiring entrepreneurs, my recommendation is to focus on providing real solutions and sharing practical knowledge. Invest in high-quality, SEO-optimized content, and engage with your audience on the platforms they trust. Consistency and value are key to sustainable business growth.

What were the biggest lessons learned from building PHP CRUD Generator?

Launching PHP CRUD Generator taught me the importance of adaptability. The development process was time-consuming, and achieving strong SEO positioning with quality backlinks proved challenging.

Still, I discovered that persistence and a commitment to continuous improvement pay off. Most customers have been incredibly grateful and supportive, which is deeply rewarding, though it’s impossible to please everyone. I spend a significant amount of my time—often for free—helping customers solve their unique issues and ensuring they succeed with the product.

This personal investment has built lasting trust and satisfaction. My journey reminds me that genuine care and dedication make all the difference.
