Who are you and what business did you start?
I'm Dmytro Negodiuk. I run an AI consulting business out of Brooklyn, New York called Negodiuk AI Consulting. I help small and mid-size companies ($1M-$10M revenue) find the parts of their business that waste human time and hand those parts to AI.
I don't sell software. I build AI systems inside businesses that already exist. Voice agents that call leads. Workflows that write, send, and track emails. Bots that monitor competitors, generate reports, respond to reviews. The boring stuff that eats 20-40 hours a week and nobody wants to do.
I also run 4 other businesses. All with zero employees. A photo mosaic kit brand on Amazon with 700+ reviews. A Ukrainian granite distribution company with 29,000 leads in the pipeline. A European paint distributor targeting the NY market. An operations management company. Every one of them runs on AI systems I built myself.
That's the pitch. I'm not selling theory. I'm selling what I use every day.
How do you come up with the idea for Negodiuk AI Consulting?
I spent 13 years in distribution and ecommerce in Ukraine. My partner and I built Elevation Group from scratch. 300+ B2B partners, 2,000+ retail points across 8 countries. We distributed 6 brands into 10+ retail chains. Kids' toys, phone accessories, electric scooters. Full cycle: sourcing in China, customs, certification, shelf placement, creating sales.
Then the war started. February 2022. My son Mark was 2 years old with a brain tumor. We left Kyiv and ended up in New York. He got treated at Memorial Sloan Kettering. He's healthy now, 6 years old, playing soccer in Brooklyn.
I needed to build income fast with no network in the US and no time to waste. So I started automating everything. My Amazon business got an AI customer service agent. My granite company got a voice bot that calls prospects. My paint distribution project got an AI system that researched 146,000 contractor leads. I replaced a full-time employee with an AI agent that sends 800 personalized emails per month at a 14% reply rate.
At some point people started asking: "Can you build that for my business?" That's how Negodiuk AI Consulting started. Not from a business plan. From people watching what I built and wanting the same thing.
The validation was simple. I didn't need to test the market. I was already the market. A business owner who couldn't afford a team and needed AI to fill the gap. If it worked for me, it'd work for others in the same position.
How did you build the initial version of Negodiuk AI Consulting?

How did you launch Negodiuk AI Consulting and get initial traction?
I built a website (negodiuk.ai) on Cloudflare Pages. Took a weekend. No templates, no WordPress. Just HTML, a headshot, case studies, and a Calendly link.
Then I wrote blog articles. Not fluff pieces. Specific, vertical-focused guides: "AI for Property Management Companies," "AI for Auto Dealerships," "AI for Dental Practices." 33 articles total. Each one targeting a specific industry with specific problems and specific numbers.
My first inbound client found me through one of those blog posts. A property management company in Brooklyn, 600 units. They Googled something about AI for property management, found my article, read it, and emailed me. No ads. No cold outreach to them. Just content that answered their exact question.
I also registered on every directory and expert network I could find. Clutch, GoodFirms, Clarity.fm, Alignable, GLG, Maven, BTG. Got listed on Qwoted for journalist queries. Started posting on LinkedIn daily. Built a Reddit presence.
The lesson: my first client didn't come from the channel I expected. I wrote 33 articles thinking SEO takes 6 months to work. Someone found me in 3 weeks. You can't predict which bet pays off. So place a lot of them.
What was the growth strategy for Negodiuk AI Consulting and how did you scale?
Blog content. That's what worked. My first paying client came from a blog article about AI in property management. One article brought more results than everything else combined.
The strategy is simple: write about the exact problem a business owner in a specific industry Googles at 2am. "How do I stop duplicate deposits in my property management company." "How do I automate lead follow-up for my plumbing business." Real problems, not "AI trends in 2026."
I also run daily LinkedIn posts. Good for credibility, less effective for direct leads. 23,000+ impressions year to date. The engagement is growing but converting followers to clients takes time.
Expert networks (GLG, Maven, BTG) bring in consulting calls. Not huge volume but consistent and zero effort after the initial profile setup.
Reddit has been underrated. I'm active in r/smallbusiness, r/Entrepreneur, and r/artificial. Not selling anything. Answering questions, sharing what I've built, being useful. Reddit threads show up in AI search results (ChatGPT, Perplexity), so every helpful comment is a long-term asset.
I've also done journalist outreach. Sent over 100 emails to journalists and podcast hosts. Got a Forbes interview out of it, a few podcast appearances, and some expert network opportunities. The conversion rate on cold outreach is low. Maybe 3-5%. But one Forbes mention is worth more than 100 cold emails.
What I'd tell someone starting out: don't pick one channel. Pick five. Write content, post on social, register on directories, answer questions on Reddit, pitch journalists. Most of it won't work immediately. But the one that hits will make up for the rest.
What were the biggest lessons learned from building Negodiuk AI Consulting?
Build something that works for you first. Then sell it.
I didn't start consulting by reading about AI. I started by automating my own businesses because I couldn't afford employees. The consulting business is a byproduct of solving my own problems.
Biggest mistake I almost made: overthinking the launch. I spent zero dollars on ads, zero on a fancy website, zero on branding. Just a clean HTML page, real case studies, and a Calendly link. The clients who matter don't care about your logo. They care about whether you've done the thing before.
Best decision: writing 33 blog articles targeting specific industries. Most founders I know skip content because it feels slow. It is slow. But one article brought me my first client in 3 weeks. That article now works for me 24/7 while I sleep.
The thing nobody tells you about AI consulting: your clients don't want "AI." They want their problems gone. The property manager didn't call me because he wanted a chatbot. He called because tenants were sending duplicate deposits and his team was drowning in WhatsApp messages. I just happened to fix it with AI.
Stop reading about what tools to use. Pick one problem in your business that wastes time every week. Automate it. Document the before and after with real numbers. That's your first case study. That's your sales pitch.
One more thing: your first client won't come from where you expect. Place a lot of bets. Most won't pay off immediately. But the one that hits will make up for the rest.
