Hello again! Remind us who you are and what business you started.

G’day! I am one of the founder and Directors of Elixinol Wellness. I started this company to create the healthiest hemp products for as many people as possible whilst doing good for the planet.

Hemp is such an awesome plant that has so many eco uses for the planet, as well as being a source of food (omega 3 and omega 6, protein and GLA) and nutraceuticals (cannabinoids such as CBD).

Started in my spare room, the company is now listed on the ASX (EXL), global and sells millions of dollars of hemp products to support a lot of people.

Tell us about what you’ve been up to! Has the business been growing?

It’s been a great year for hemp foods, with Hemp Foods Australia products reaching mainstream consumers through places such as the major supermarkets - Woolworths, Coles, Costco, etc.

Though for CBD, particularly in North America, an oversupply in the industry has forced many farmers and small companies to ‘dump products’ on the market. This has been challenging for the industry as a whole.

Elixinol hemp CBD products have consistently been produced in the highest quality and featured in the news regularly. We have launched a lot of new products on Elixinol’s website and those products are now being sold and promoted through many affiliates and re-sellers.

We have improved our website and social media outreach to communicate the WHY of our products and how we support our people.

What have been your biggest lessons learned in the last year?

Be prepared for market changes outside your control. As a global corporation, we get ‘valued’ on our bottom line. What we have done is use this time to ensure our team is upskilled to the best of our ability. We have an amazing team innovating the future of hemp and cannabinoids in a way that has never been done before. That is why Elixinol is truly amazing.

There is no such thing as failure as long as you are truly passionate and believe in your product.

What’s in the plans for the upcoming year, and the next 5 years?

Our plan is to grow our product offerings - both Elixinol and Hemp Foods Australia has a clear intention to bring out new products regularly that truly are groundbreaking.

I am excited to see what our skilled, clever and kind team bring to support the future of health.

Have you read any good books in the last year?

Quite a few good reads recently. My favorite has been 10% Human a book focussing on the microbes in our gut and how much of a big part they play in our existence!

Advice for other entrepreneurs who might be struggling to grow their business?

Aim for the sky (big), and prepare for the worst. Never give up. There is no such thing as failure as long as you are truly passionate and believe in your product. You will always break through if you are doing good for good reasons.
