Who are you and what business did you start?

I’m the founder of amawp.com, a WordPress toolkit built for Amazon affiliate publishers. I created Ama Affiliate Pro to help website owners manage the repetitive work behind affiliate sites, from creating product-focused content and product boxes to managing links and identifying products that need attention. My primary customers are bloggers, niche website owners, and Amazon Associates who want to build and maintain affiliate websites more efficiently. What makes Ama Affiliate Pro different is that it brings these essential affiliate workflows together inside WordPress instead of forcing publishers to rely on multiple tools. Revenue comes from paid Ama Affiliate Pro licenses and subscriptions.

How do you come up with the idea for amawp.com?

I came up with the idea for Ama Affiliate Pro after spending a lot of time working with Amazon affiliate websites and seeing how many separate tasks publishers have to manage. Creating product content, adding product boxes, maintaining affiliate links, checking product availability, and keeping older articles updated can become a tedious process. I realized that many publishers were relying on several different plugins and tools to handle these jobs. My background in SEO, WordPress, and affiliate publishing gave me the technical experience to build a solution directly inside WordPress. I started with the problems I was already experiencing and built the features around those workflows. I then used the tool on real affiliate websites, improved it based on practical use, and gradually turned it into Ama Affiliate Pro.

How did you launch amawp.com and get initial traction?

I launched Ama Affiliate Pro in mid-August 2026. I started by putting the product on my website and introducing it directly to people in my existing network who I knew were interested in WordPress, SEO, and affiliate publishing. I didn’t have a large launch campaign or paid advertising budget, so the first stage was mostly about getting the product in front of people who were likely to understand the problem it solves.

Seven people tried the product during the first few days and weeks. My first paid customer came on the seventh day, with a $9.99 purchase. That first sale was important because it confirmed that people were willing to pay for something I had built rather than just saying they liked the idea.

Since then, I’ve continued improving the product while promoting it through my website, personal network, Facebook, and YouTube. The biggest lesson from the launch was that you don't need a huge audience to get your first customers. You need to put the product in front of the right people, listen to their feedback, and keep improving it.

What was the growth strategy for amawp.com and how did you scale?

Ama Affiliate Pro is still a new product, so I’m focused on organic growth and testing different acquisition channels rather than spending heavily on advertising. I currently have more than 20 customers, with most of the early customers coming from people who already knew and followed my work.

So far, my approximate customer sources are 15 from existing followers and contacts, 3 from SEO, 1 from Facebook, and 1 from YouTube. SEO is particularly interesting because it can bring people who are already looking for a solution. One example is my comparison article about Ama Affiliate Pro and AAWP, which targets people actively evaluating affiliate WordPress tools.

I’ve also started creating YouTube videos that demonstrate Ama Affiliate Pro and show how its features work. Facebook has been more of an experiment so far. I’ve shared a few posts in relevant groups, but they haven’t produced meaningful results yet.

The main lesson is that early growth is about finding what actually works rather than assuming every channel will work. Existing relationships have been the strongest source of customers so far, while SEO and YouTube give me opportunities to reach people who don't know me yet. I’m continuing to test these channels and improve the product based on what I learn from early users.

What were the biggest lessons learned from building amawp.com?

One of the biggest things I’ve learned is that building the product is often easier than getting people to care about it. I initially focused heavily on features and development, but I’ve learned that understanding what users actually need is just as important.

I’ve also learned not to wait for a product to feel perfect before launching. Early feedback is far more useful than spending months guessing what people might want. Since Ama Affiliate Pro is still new, I’m treating the early stage as a learning process and improving it based on real usage.

My biggest advice is simple: solve a problem you understand, launch before everything is perfect, and stay close to your users. Don’t confuse adding more features with building a better business.
