Eric Turner is a US-born entrepreneur who founded Japan Dev, a curated job board for tech jobs in Japan founded in 2019.

He’s a software engineer from the US, but he has been residing in Japan since 2013.

As a result, only a small percentage of technology companies fulfill the high standards. Every firm on the site also includes a detailed company biography page where users may learn about remote work, benefits, and other policies.

When he went to Japan, Eric struggled to find potential employers, so he built a website that lists potential employment opportunities in the country.

His first customer was the company he worked for. He relied on SEO and cold emailing to target potential customers. Eric realized his first revenue more than a year after launching. Unlike other job sites, Japan Dev is monitored as only companies that accept foreign employees and have cutting-edge development teams are qualified to post job openings.

When he started Japan Dev in 2019 along with his wife, they struggled to make a dollar for a year but, despite the hardships, decided to stuck with their passion project, and now the company makes $60k/month on average.
