Hello! Who are you and what business did you start?
My Name is Jerremy Alexander Newsome and I started a business called Real Life Trading, where our mission is to enrich lives. We achieve this on a global scale through stock market mentorship.
So many people find the stock market mysterious, scary, hard and challenging. My biggest goal was to create a fun, friendly, uplifting, and positive environment where everyone learns through Real Life lessons the markets give us. I created a ‘freemium’ model where 99% of my education is totally free. The premium model is live events, exclusive coaching, and hand-holding or a monthly subscription where anyone can watch me or my team day trade LIVE and get their questions answered on the spot!
Real Life Trading has expanded to different countries including Real Life Trading Australia, Real Life Trading Denmark, and Real Life Trading UK. We have generated over 4 million in revenue and enriched tens of thousands of lives. Through our Real Life Foundation, we are donating hundreds of thousands of dollars a year to fantastic causes and will provide our content and education to foster centers and prison inmates.
What's your backstory and how did you come up with the idea?
I went to college (The University of Florida) in 2006 - 2009 to get a Finance degree. My intention and goal were direct to learn about the stock market, day trading, investing along with options, and other liquid assets. However, I was totally let down by the lack of insight given.
Live in a way where you have the ability to stack cash, buy assets, invest in yourself, and allow your future self to be amazingly happy your present self took such actions!
I began to go down the path of self-teaching. I attended hundreds of hours, sitting in seminars, watching webinars, reading books, paying for classes, and consuming everything the internet had to offer.
The information was scarce, the instructors were often boring, filled with malaise and trepidation. It seemed my excitement was not being met with synonymous energy or enthusiasm. The sales pitches were all tacky, everyone was focused on making money selling their wares and it never felt genuine or down to earth.
In my younger years, I wanted to be a history teacher. I LOVE teaching, explaining, and helping guide individuals towards mental liberation! Take us through the process of designing, prototyping, and manufacturing your first product.
All my products are digital, which is nice. I never had to physically create anything. However, I dabbled as a radio show host and stand-up comedian. This allowed me to have vocal inflections and overall strength to allow hours of speaking along with a lack of fear of presenting and being in front of people. This boded well online videos and presentations.
One of my very first classes was on covered calls.
I created this for free on youtube after dozens of requests from friends. I have tweaked and updated my website at least 5 different times over the last 7 years. It’s digital real estate! My logo came after about 8 weeks of going back and forth with designers until we all landed with the perfect one.
Describe the process of launching the business.
My business launch was riddled with challenges. The main obstacle, a lawsuit from a competing company that felt I was stealing their content. I cover some details of that in this episode of broke to woke.
I did have a large list of clients whom I worked with on Facebook, Twitter, and Youtube. These are customers I simply interacted with, helped, and assisted with their questions about brokers, order entries, risk calculations, the math of trading in combination with option and stock strategies.
My goal at the time, help 1,000,000 people so I could make $1,000,000. I’ve always believed the more value you provide to the marketplace, the more monetary rewards you’ll be given.
Since launch, what has worked to attract and retain customers?
Presently, the best way to attract new customers is by continually creating compelling content and placing it on the internet. Videos, articles, blogs, or E-Books that help solve my customer's problems. In business, we need to elevate pain. We need to be the bridge between where our customer is now and where they want to go.
Retaining customers is easy. BE NICE TO THEM. Provide amazing customer service, ensure they receive the rewards, information, content, or services they thought they would get. If you genuinely do those few things along with continually innovating while maintaining openness, any business will grow!
We must make our customers happy, pleased, thrilled, excited about life! With any business, we have the ability to create raving fans by being REAL humans, by caring, being thoughtful, respectful, and truly making an effort to assist in their family's growth towards financial freedom.
How are you doing today and what does the future look like?
We will continue working with Youtubers, influencers, athletes, and celebrities through relationships and shared experiences. Connecting with thought leaders, world changers and other growth-oriented individuals will help propel Real Life Trading.
Our focus on enriching lives globally, assisting the wealthy to become more powerful, preparing the rich to invigorate their communities and uplifting those who seek financial freedom will be our main focus.
One of our ultimate goals is to change and impact the US education system to place more prominently the instruction and study of money, our thoughts around it, our beliefs about it, and how we can craft mentally delicious narratives that change our world and future! I did get an opportunity to write a book on this subject. It is called Money Grows on Trees.
Through starting the business, have you learned anything particularly helpful or advantageous?
I have learned to always listen, always ask questions, and think in an abundant mindset. You can either be afraid of competition or embrace them. You can be scared of raising prices OR make it worth it for your customers.
Live out of your comfort zone, find ways to scale your income, because you can only decrease expenses so far. Live in a way where you have the ability to stack cash, buy assets, invest in yourself, and allow your future self to be amazingly happy your present self took such actions!

Advice for other entrepreneurs who want to get started or are just starting?
I have SO much advice on this topic. Enough for numerous books. To keep it short and sweet, focus on your customers' journey. How are YOU solving their pain and making their lives and their family's lives better? Everyone wants more magic, more money with less time. Make sure to create something that allows and guides people closer to their magical, micro, mental moments that will shift their life forever.
Also, know how much your time is worth and realize there's always a customer for every price point.
Are you looking to hire for certain positions right now?
Not right now. I personally hire from within as the companies revenue can support it. I want this company to always operate from a cash flow perspective that drives both growth and abundance by working with our current and existing raving fans!
