Hello again! Remind us who you are and what business you started.

Hello!

I am Neeraj Gupta, founder of Salonist. In 2017, I discovered a Salon Software for the beauty and wellness industry to handle day-to-day activities. The solution helps them in managing appointments, inventory, reports & analytics, multi-location accessibility, etc.

My software includes the industries, such as Barber Shops, Hair Salons, Massage Therapy, Nail Salons, spa, Bridal Salon, Aesthetic Skin Clinic, Tattoo Artists, Salon Booth For Renter, Tanning Salon Software, Pet Grooming, etc. Also, we give a 14-day trial period to our customers to test the software and then, make their minds to go with premium packages.

We advertise our services, and ad products, run banner ads, offer discounts, and coupons, and run referral programs. Since the start, we have achieved $1.6M Revenue with 10K+ customers.

Tell us about what you’ve been up to. Has the business been growing?

I have been running around non-stop! It feels like I can’t get a break. Running a business is not a cherry on the cake. There are several tasks to look up to. So, yes, I am working and growing well.

Till now, none of the marketing channels or strategies has stopped or slowed down. Merely in three months, we have secured 2500+ customers worldwide.

I intend to update the business with new features considering the customer’s pain points.

The main issues they were facing were booking appointments, stock management, payment methods, multi-location branch management, etc. I got to know about these major issues when I visited my friend in Singapore in 2015.

He has a salon in paragon mall there. From the discussion, I realized those pain points. And, then, I decided to visit the other salon and take their feedback. In all, the maximum issues were the same. Hence, I worked on it and launched the Software with the same features so that they can easily manage their Salon operations.

As of now, I'm able to improve the software visibility and make it accessible to as many customers as possible. For marketing channels, I got to know about partnership marketing from one of my friends. And, then, I included the affiliate partnership program in Salonist. Yes, I am working on it.

Till now, none of the marketing channels or strategies has stopped or slowed down. Still, they are working right and getting loyal and potential customers. Merely in three months, we have secured 2500+ customers worldwide.

We give priority to our existing customers; they are loyal for a long time. To assure they revisit us, we understand their perspectives, the issues they are facing, and their expectations from us and hence, give a required solution.

What have been your biggest challenges in the last year?

As a business person, I come across several challenges daily. Because at the time of COVID, many Salon businesses were not operating and were facing financial issues. To combat it, we decline Salonist subscription prices and offer discounts, gift cards, etc.

Failure comes with success, if you are letting it harm you then, you cannot win, but, if you will not, then, success is waiting for you!

So, instead of saying that my business experienced challenges, we earned good ROI. The reason is simple! We are a service-based business who are giving services online. So, I secured my customers in my pocket by providing satisfactory services to all.

What have been your biggest lessons learned in the last year?

Understanding the customers according to their perspectives is highly important than only you can give them the best service. Also, I would like to add that remaining loyal to work, maintaining work and life balance, and playing smartly are evident.

The plan for the future is clear and cut short- to boost salonist accessibility and make it the best software in the competitive market. Also, we will add new features, and upgrade the app version for customers' convenience.

Failure comes with success, if you are letting it harm you then, you cannot win, but, if you will not, then, success is waiting for you!
