How We Grew Revenue From $6K To $10K/Month Through Referrals
This is a follow up story for Watson Digital. If you're interested in reading how they got started, published about 4 years ago, check it out here.
Hello again! Remind us who you are and what business you started.
Hello, it’s me again! I’m Jacob, the Founder of Watson Digital. We work with businesses that want to grow their online revenue and typically offer conversion rate optimization, paid-per-click marketing, and social media marketing.
We’re now doing well over 10k per month in revenue and I’ve started to grow my brand as an industry influencer!
Tell us about what you’ve been up to! Has the business been growing?
Since our last article, we’ve grown our revenue by about $5,000 per month which makes us a 6-figure agency! We feel extremely fortunate about our growth given that so many businesses struggled in 2020.
We’ve grown our client base through referrals and by using Apollo.io to send out strong email campaigns to new potential clients. Apollo.io is a really useful tool for both prospecting and email sequencing.
With our growth, we’ve been able to add a couple of employees to better manage our advertising accounts and handle our accounting. Being able to give people work is a huge accomplishment for me.
What’s in the plans for the upcoming year, and the next 5 years?
My primary goal for the next few years is to grow my brand and become known as an industry expert. By doing so, I will cement myself as someone who is the go-to for business owners and marketing managers who need help growing their online revenue. Marketers who need help implementing the strategies I suggest will then be referred to Watson Digital for our services.
create sustainable habits so that even when you are struggling to find motivation, your discipline can kick in.
Expect to see plenty of content coming from my name, Jacob Dazzeo, in the near future. Check me out at jacobdazzeo.com in September after I launch my new site!
Have you read any good books in the last year?
In addition to what I suggested last time, I’ve recently added “The School of Greatness” podcast to my mix. I highly recommend reading “the marketing agency blueprint” by Paul Roetzer to anyone trying to start an agency.
Advice for other entrepreneurs who might be struggling to grow their business?
My best advice is to create sustainable habits so that even when you are struggling to find motivation, your discipline can kick in. Create a routine in both your personal and business life that you can stick to.
Just to give you some ideas, here is my morning routine these days.
Monday - Thursday:
Wake up around 7 am
Exercise
Meditate
Eat
Make coffee
Start workday by 9 am
No scheduled calls until 10 am so I can get off to a hot start.
By sticking to that morning routine, I have already done a bunch of productive activities by 9 am and feel motivated to work.
