And for some real world inspiration, give Nick and Angelica's story on creating Romans Tide a read:

My name is Nick and I am the founder of Romans Tide. My business started out selling on eBay in early 2015, by November we moved to Amazon. Our method of selling was 100% arbitrage back then.

By 2017 we did over $1,000,000 in revenue on the Amazon platform. I had no idea what I had gotten into. I had no business experience and had no idea how to manage all this money flowing through the business.

Now we have our own Private Label Products, a couple of wholesale accounts (pursuing more), and a full-scale countrywide Retail Arbitrage operation that generates six figures a month in revenue with 20-25% profit margins.

A lot of people say “you can’t scale Retail Arbitrage”. We prove them wrong on a daily basis.

Nowadays, Romans Tide is becoming more of a distributor for my other product creations and brands. My journey in E-Commerce has had me sell everything from toys and clothes to trampolines and patio sets. We sell to all types of customers so that led me to develop my own brands.

Right now we have:

Mind Your Grind - Started out as my personal blog but is being turned into a sales channel for customers focused on health, fitness, and mindset. @Mind_Your_Grind

RTX (in development) - This is my Sports and Outdoor Brand focused on serving the customers involved in extreme sports. My love for riding waves is what fuels this project

Weddings because there is no higher compliment than to have the bride and groom come up to us complimenting us and letting us know how all their guests are raving about the food. As for corporate caterings we like to make it as simple as possible for them. We have 12 different menus they can choose from so that every month their employees enjoy a different menu. Plus once we have their information all they have to do is text us the Date, Menu, and Time they want. We understand that they have better, more important things to do than order food. Thus, we are currently focusing on stability and scalability before we start any heavy push towards outbound marketing.

Our gross profit at the moment sits at 45%, which is bad for a software company. But not bad considering we continue to reinvest. Plus, I’m not a programmer and talented programmers are not cheap. I’ve also been reinvesting more into servers and technology which put us at break even.

Oh My Balm was founded two years ago and we make kitchen-crafted all-natural body products. Our tagline is “Two Mom’s Making it Real.”

We promote them through our marketing, as they work on several different projects that create a life of prosperity for African women and their families. You can find more about them here. The other charity that is close to our hearts is Behind The Scenes, which provides financial support to entertainment technology industry professionals if they, or their immediate dependent family, are seriously ill or injured. We make a body butter, “Crew,” and we give a portion of the proceeds of every tin sold to BTS. This got us mention in several entertainment industry magazines.

Hi, I’m Meredith Vaish. I’m a speaker, writer, retreat designer and founder of Pause Box, a company devoted to helping people go from busyness to breakthrough with the power of the intentional pause.

In my first year of business, I’ve been focused on proof of concepts and iterating. My revenue during this time has been nearly $1k per month. All proceeds have gone back into my business with the exception of 10% of my box revenue going to an organization I’m passionate about Enneagram Prison Project.

And for some real world inspiration, give Corey Rust's story on creating 37413 Gear a read:

Sometimes in our short existence on this planet, we come across remarkable people that make a huge impact on our lives making it kind of hard to summarize what it all means and why they mean a lot to us. We all have those kinds of people, and we treasure them. So my story about my brand new business, 37413 Gear, is because of one of those people.

37413 Gear is a very new venture for me having started less than a week before me writing this sentence, and within that week, we haven’t broken any sales records, but we have gotten sales, and that’s very humbling. It’s humbling not only because people are purchasing products, but because they’re purchasing products to support something that means a lot to me, and THAT is more meaningful in so many ways than making gobs of money. (Although that doesn’t hurt either)
